7-Eleven is supporting Marge Simpson posing on the cover of 'Playboy'

Marge Simpson, Bart's mom on the animated cartoon "The Simpsons," posed for Playboy magazine. She will be on the cover of the November issue which will hit newsstands on October 16.

7-Eleven has decided to carry this edition. Playboy has convinced them to carry the magazine in its 1,200 corporate-owned stores, something the company has only done once before in more than twenty years.

"We love Marge," said 7-Eleven spokesman Margaret Chabris.

Playboy will include a data sheet, an interview and a two-page centerfold of "The Simpsons" mom.

Sales have slipped for Playboy in the last several years. Placing Marge on the cover is their plan to attract younger readers. Playboy spokesperson Theresa Hennessey said, "We knew that this would really appeal to the 20-something crowd."

The magazine also hopes this issue becomes a collector's edition by giving the cover spot to a cartoon mom.

Children will be drawn to this magazine by having an animated character on the cover. Targeting a young audience was the sole reason behind the decision of Joe Camel being removed from the Camel cigarette carton several years ago.

TAKE ACTION:

Please send 7-Eleven an email letter and ask their company not to carry nor display the November issue or any future editions of Playboy magazine.
